Dr. Andrew Gonzalez
My research is broadly focused on the causes and consequences of biodiversity change and the stability and functioning of ecosystems. As a corollary I hope to gain a better understanding of how the impacts of anthropogenic environmental change can be mitigated. We use experiments in the field and lab, theory, and databases to tackle the following research questions.
- Linking biodiversity to ecosystem function.
- The impacts of habitat fragmentation.
- Eco-evolutionary dynamics of environmental change.
- The structure and function of ecological networks.
Dr. Cécile H. Albert - Research Scientist
I am a CNRS researcher at IMBE in France, working at the interface between plant functional ecology, landscape ecology, biogeography and ecological modelling.
My research aims at linking existing knowledge in these complementary fields in order to understand how biodiversity and ecosystem services could change under global change pressure. |
Dr. Bronwyn Rayfield - Postdoctoral Researcher
I study the processes that control the distribution and persistence of biodiversity in human-modified landscapes. I combine spatial modeling (simulation and analytic models) with experiments (laboratory and field) to pursue two major research themes: 1) Biodiversity persistence in spatial habitat networks; and 2) Conservation of ecological connectivity in dynamic landscapes. The results of my research can improve the design and management of connected landscapes to promote the persistence of ecological and evolutionary processes that maintain biodiversity.
