Maps of the forest fragment network
These maps show the ecological network and how it simultaneously promotes connectivity and traversability for five local species (American marten, Common Eastern bumble bee, Red back salamander, White-tailed deer, Ovenbird (see below left top to bottom)). Each 30mx30m pixel of land is ranked according to its importance to the connectivity of the network: the colors range from brown (low priority) to dark green (high priority). Note the band of high importance forest to the north of the island of Montreal.
